It has been a very busy first month for us at the knitting parlour.
We have held our first knitting virgins classes with great success and plenty of enthusiasm from the participants. Our first sock-making lesson was today and also went really well, everyone loves Opal sock yarn.
Our range of yarn has expanded to include British Breeds Blueface Leicester DK and Aran and 5 ply Gurnsey yarn which we hope to also offer on the website soon. We will be stocking GGH in the shop, hopefully from September and will be offering this on the website by October.
We’ve been lucky enough to come by some local Ryland yarn. It is natural coloured and approximately an Aran weight. It’s gorgeous but very limited so unfortunately can’t offer it on the website, BUT when our own Jacob yarn is spun we will be selling that through the website so watch this space!
Coming up to Christmas we will be stocking some great knitting bags and needle cases from America. They are gorgeous and very unique - the perfect present, even to yourself!
More news soon, in the meantime happy knitting…

Our shop opened in Malvern on 22nd July. We had a drinks party the night before to celebrate and hopefully inspire family and friends!
We want the shop to be knitting mecca so that people get really excited about what we have to offer and can also come and hang out in the shop and knit whenever they like. We’ve got a big comfy sofa and a table and chairs and a kettle which is constantly on the boil! We are going to introduce more formal knit’n'natter sessions soon.
We are going to offer courses on learning to knit (Knitting Virgins) because believe me you will want to learn when you see the yarns and patterns we have and you will be amazed at how easy, quick and affordable it is to make a garment which you would pay a fortune for in a shop. We are hooked on felting at the moment and hope to offer courses and advice on this up and coming craze.
Sock knitting is really popular at the moment and we stock Opal sock yarn which is self-patterning. We also have starter kits for sock virgins. My kids love their socks and have insisted on wearing them even though it’s the height of summer!
We have just sent some Jacob fleeces to be spun for our own wool. It’s very exciting - watch this space for updates.
